Toshiba Mentioned in article on POWER mag’s Top Plants

When POWER magazine named Illinois-based Prairie State Energy Campus as one of the top power plants in their current October issue, Toshiba International Corporation was mentioned for helping the plant receive a top nod. Toshiba “supplied the steam turbine-generators, nominally rated at 877 MW at an exhaust pressure of 3.0 inches of mercury,” according to POWER. The Toshiba turbines and generators have aided the Prairie State Energy Campus to become fully operational and work towards more reliable energy that will benefit electricity customers with affordable rates “for decades to come.” Though, the plant is possibly one of the last multi-unit coal-fired power plants to be built in the United States, it has already made incredible economic and environmental strides.
