Precision and Packard pool their production

Precision Electric Motor Sales, a master distributor in electric motor sales, and Packard Inc., a master distributor of full-line HVACR solutions, are merging. The two family-owned wholesalers believe the business decision will strategically help their companies going forward.

According to Precision Electric reps, the company, which sells commercial and industrial motors, was strategically looking to add product and found a partner in Packard. Packard reps were interested in expanding into more brick-and-mortar locations throughout the country, and Precision Electric’s 12 U.S. distribution centers were attractive destinations.

Precision is a distributor of commercial, industrial and residential electric motors and pumps located in Owosso, Michigan.

Packard is an HVACR solutions company headquartered in Kennesaw, GA, but with a brand distribution center in Indianapolis.

According to a Packard press release, the combined organization — which will be called The Precision Group Inc. — emerges as a master distributor with the ability to support customers’ growth by satisfying their needs with a diverse portfolio of electric motors and critical components to serve the commercial, industrial, HVACR; maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO); and appliance parts markets. With a network of nationwide full-service distribution centers, the newly combined company creates an opportunity for synergies that will result in the highest level of service to the market.
