$12 Million and 170 New Jobs

Promise for Tennessee manufacturing

Eurotranciatura, one of the largest producers of steel laminations for electrical equipment in Europe, is shoring up its American front. The company is investing $12.6 million in an expansion and improvements to its Paris, Tenn., facility expected to create more than 170 new jobs in the area.

The manufacturer’s investment includes upgrades and new equipment for its existing Henry County manufacturing plant along with a new, roughly 30,000-square-foot distribution warehouse near its current plant, according to a State of Tennessee news release July 26.

The company expects to complete renovations to the existing plant by mid-2017 and expects to start constructing the new warehouse in August 2017, Jacob Steimer of the Nashville Business Journal first reported on Tuesday.

“Tennessee’s highly skilled workforce and dedication to innovation continue to attract leading manufacturers like Eurotranciatura. We thank them for choosing to expand in Paris and their commitment to create more than 170 new jobs for Henry County,” Gov. Bill Haslam said in the release.

Eurotranciatura, a joint venture between Euro Group S.p.A and Kuroda Precision Industries Ltd., manufactures steel lamination products for electrical motors and generators. The parent company, founded in 1967, is the largest production unit for electrical steel laminations in Europe.

It specializes in the production of loose blanked laminations (up to an external diameter of 800 mm) or interlocked laminations for rotating electrical machinery designed for industrial applications including power tools, generators, wind generators, geared motors, electric motors, hermetic motors, domestic appliances, pumps and ventilation.
