Shermco, AWEA, Allied Reliability, T.F. Hudgins…

Shermco wins AWEA award. At the AWEA Operations, Maintenance and Safety Conference, held February 27 through March 2 in San Diego, Shermco Industries was among the recipients AWEA’s Gold Safety and Health Achievement Award. Included was ‘Silver Recognition’ which is based on 3 years of exemplary OSHA reported safety statistics.  Shermco’s has also participated in AWEA voluntary programs and contributed to safety initiatives in the wind energy industry.

Shermco said in a March 10 press release that its representatives have been active with AWEA committees helping with safety standards, as well as safety outreach programs directed at technicians and managers at wind sites. These projects included helping develop the AWEA Operation and Maintenance Recommended Practices, the “Stop the Drop” tool safety program and the “Arrive Alive” safe driving initiatives. Shermco Industries has also achieved the OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs Star Site recognition at their Irving, TX generator remanufacturing facility.

Allied Reliability merging with T.F. Hudgins. Allied Reliability, the Charleston, S.C.-based industrial reliability and electrical services company, is in the process of completing a merger with Houston-based T.F. Hudgins, Inc., a machine reliability solutions company.

The merger was initially announced in a press release October 21, 2016, but is still in the process of being finalized.

T.F. Hudgins, which was founded in 1947, has primary end-markets that include midstream oil & gas, petrochemical, refining and other industrial process industries. Allied Reliability Group was founded in 1997 and offers operational reliability solutions such as condition monitoring, electrical services, consulting and training, as well as staffing and integrated product solutions for commercial and industrial manufacturing industries.

The companies anticipate the merger as an integration of the hardware and software portfolios of two reliability-based business models.
