Aftermarket Alliance

Electric Machinery Co. (WEG) teams up with Cotter and Axis

Electric Machinery Co., Inc., of Minneapolis, a member of the global industrial group WEG, has entered an alliance with two U.S. providers of electromechanical services. The first, S.T. Cotter Turbine Services, Inc., of Clearwater, Minn., is a provider of services, maintenance, and repair of industrial turbines and rotating equipment. The other, Axis Mechanical Group, Inc., of Houston is a servicer of industrial equipment.

According to the group, the business alliance will enable a complete aftermarket service capability for rotating equipment. The deal was announced Sep. 1 by president of Electric Machinery Richard Fesmire, VP Operations of S.T. Cotter Shawn Cotter, and Axis president John Hanks.

“This partnership will allow our companies to better serve our customer base while offering more comprehensive maintenance and repair services – covering everything from exciter to substation,” Cotter said.

Together, the companies have a presence in industries from power generation plants, oil and gas processing plants, pulp and paper plants, to heavy industrial sites.

“Our companies’ mutual quest in searching for ways to best serve our customers led to this unique alliance,” said Fesmire. “The combined experience and offerings of this new alliance are unsurpassed in the industry. We look forward to the opportunity to serve our clients’ needs – while surpassing all of their expectations.”
