RVs Lost in Blaze

Motor shop also burned at Paul Evert’s RV outlet (Fresno, Calif.)

A popular California RV site caught fire February 21, resulting in nearly $3 million in vehicle damages and the loss of an on-site repair shop.

The Fresno location of Paul Evert’s RV Country, which has nine locations in five states along the West Coast, was set partially ablaze by refrigerator combustion on one of the recreational vehicles after hours, around 6 PM. Employees were still present and initially tackled the fire themselves before calling 911, the Fresno Bee reported. The Fresno County Fire Department determined the refrigerator to be the cause of the damage after inspection.

In all, approximately 7-9 vehicles were destroyed, with others suffering minor damage. Employees were able to save a number of other RVs from catching fire by pulling them out of the lot and distancing them from the source. No one was hurt in the incident.
