Gratitude for Olsun

The following is a miniature compliment to our long-running “Letters” department. We will occasionally feature letters in this newsletter as an avenue to provide reader input and reactions. As always, please don’t hesitate to mail us your feedback, virtually or “the old way”. In this instance, a professional engineer from IEEE provides a short reflection on our September 2018 story featuring Olsun Electrics.

Dear Editor,

The issue of September 2018 had a picture of Olsun Electrics Corp.

The photo brought memories of my visit to the plant to inspect the assembly of medium voltage cast coil transformers, destined to a Navy base in California. Present with me was a very qualified Navy officer who took the leadership of the inspection.

Thanks to the owners and employees for keeping this company alive for so many years while we see GE and Westinghouse go under.

God bless you, keep vertical, safe.

-Adolfo Ponce De Leon, P.E., IEEE
