Remembering Richard Duke

Known and respected throughout the electrical manufacturing industry

We were saddened to learn via EMCWA (The Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding Association) that Richard Duke, who served as the association’s president, died October 21, 2019.

In an obituary from the Eddy Funeral Homes, Dick is remembered as a man of many talents, who “pursued a variety of careers during his life, including spending time as a disc jockey, fitness center manager, trade school recruiter and car sales manager, first in Marion and later in Fort Wayne, IN. ”

Dick began his career as the Director of the Research & Development Lab at Indiana Tech. He purchased the lab from the school in 1997 and, as A/Z Tech, Inc., the company continued to provide a variety of test equipment to the electric magnet wire industry.

Through A-Z Tech, Dick became active in EMCWA, joining the board of directors, serving as its most recent President, and remembered by many for his accomplishments and efforts on behalf of the Association.
