EIS Names New CEO

Glenn Pennycook brings experience in electronics, cabling markets from Belden

EIS, the major North American distributor, has appointed Glenn Pennycook to the position of Chief Executive Officer, the company announced April 6. “We’re excited to have Glenn join us during our transformational stage,” said Bonnie Bergkessel, EIS marketing manager. Pennycook has experience in the electronics and cabling infrastructure market, having previously held the position of executive vice president of the Enterprise Solutions platform for Belden Corporation of St. Louis, one of EIS’ suppliers.

In addition to his electronics and cabling experience, Pennycook brings with him “a strong track record in driving process, service and supply chain improvements,” the company said in a press release sent to EA April 6. While helping run Belden’s Enterprise platform, he had global responsibility for the intelligent buildings, live media, and broadband solutions business units.

Upon his appointment, Pennycook said: “I am excited to join the EIS business at this transformational stage as we further our mission to be the leading provider of solutions for power, motor repair, electronics, and energy applications.  While this is a very challenging time for many businesses we remain highly committed to our customers, employees and suppliers. We will emerge from this challenge as a stronger more vibrant company. EIS has been a longstanding partner for many of our customers since its founding in 1946.  Our rich history, committed employees, loyal customers and suppliers will be the foundation upon which we embark upon this new chapter in building a company for the future.”
